Green Beans with Almonds

Ingredients Instructions

  • 1.5 pounds fresh green beans
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated lemon peel
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  1. In a Dutch oven, boil lightly salted water.
  2. Add beans and keep boiling for 6 - 8 minutes, until tender.
  3. Drain beans and return to pot.
  4. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook almonds in hot oil until lightly browned.
  5. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  6. Combine beans, almond mixture, parsley, lemon peel, salt, pepper.
