1.5 pounds fresh green beans

1/2 cup sliced almonds

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup parsley, chopped

1 tablespoon finely grated lemon peel

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

In a Dutch oven, boil lightly salted water.

Add beans and keep boiling for 6 - 8 minutes, until tender.

Drain beans and return to pot.

Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook almonds in hot oil until lightly browned.

Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.

Combine beans, almond mixture, parsley, lemon peel, salt, pepper.
